SvalMIZ-26 (April 2026)
SvalMIZ-26 is taking place in April 2026, targeting the Marginal Ice Zone north of Svalbard. The campaign covers a similar area as SvalMIZ-25.
We plan to deploy 18 OpenMetBuoys as a distributed observation network, supporting coupled atmosphere-ocean-wave-sea-ice process studies and forecast system evaluation in Arctic conditions.
Live buoy trajectories are shown in the map below. Data-release updates will be added as they become available.
