SvalMIZ-26: ongoing campaign (April 2026)
Campaign status: SvalMIZ-26 is ongoing since April 2026. The campaign targets a similar area as SvalMIZ-25, focusing on the Marginal Ice Zone north west of Svalbard.
We are deploying 18 OpenMetBuoys as a distributed observation network, supporting coupled atmosphere-ocean-wave-sea-ice process studies and forecast system evaluation in Arctic conditions.
Live tracking links are already available below on this page. The buoys can be monitored at the OVL portal: https://odl.bzh/H8E-I3SI. Data-release updates will be added as they become available.
